Sloppy Signs

You know it's a slow news day when the ever-exciting Evening Standard comes out with a story about apostrophes gone awry.

Apparently errant signmakes are confused and signs are paying the price. Is it Bott's Mews or Botts Mews? Bishops Bridge Road or Bishop's Bridge Road?

This reminds me of the Lynn Truss book. I'm tough on myself when it comes to proper grammar and spelling but I try not to be too hard on others, especially in the social networking world. It's supposed to be fun isn't it? However, I do feel that public signs paid for with tax dollars should contain proper grammar.
